About UN Women USA LA

UN Women USA LA is an independent non-profit, 501c3 organization that supports the mission of UN Women and social, political, and economic equality for women and girls around the world. Our members and supporters are men, women, and children in cities around the country who give their time and resources to support a world where women of all ages have access to education and employment opportunities, and sustainable livelihoods that enable them to live free of gender-based violence.

Call for Volunteers!

UN Women USA LA advocates on behalf of UN Women locally throughout the Los Angeles region. The Membership team is assigned the responsibility for promoting and expanding the Chapter’s membership. Find us on social media @UNWomenLA

UN Women USA LA Membership Roles and responsibilities include:

• Promote and expand membership;
• Builds a following of people who support United Nations Women and our local efforts;
• Develops events and initiatives to ensure increased positive and engaged membership.
• Engage and interact with enthusiasm to coordinate a positive and worthwhile experience.
• Welcomes new members and reply to incoming member inquiries and communications;
• Work as a liaison between UN Women USA LA and its members;
• Submit membership lists/updates no less than once every quarter to Board;
• Maintain member and nonmember distribution lists;
• Manage a database of and facilitate the use of Member Talent Forms;
• Expertise in managing google docs, WordPress, blogs, and newsletter articles.

Desired Profile:

• Experience in Marketing and promoting membership;
• Proficiency in Word/Excel;
• Strong working knowledge of google docs, google hangout and Skype;
• Excellent Marketing, communication and organizational skills;
• Open-minded, proactive, friendly, and a team player
• Dedicated and motivated with a strong interest in Gender Equality.
• Time requirement 5-10 hours per week.
