Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Atlanta GLOW

Become a Youth Voting Ambassador with Atlanta GLOW! Our Youth Voting Ambassador Program is designed to enliven your interest in the civic engagement process and help you learn your rights and responsibilities as a citizen. This program will also provide hands on experience and training on how to organize and implement voter activities to increase the participation of young people of color in the electoral process.

What is a Youth Voting Ambassador?

As a Youth Voting Ambassador, you will help Atlanta GLOW get more of your friends involved in this January’s runoff election. Ambassadors will receive a voter registration training and mobilization toolkit; communications and social media tools; and access to information and resources to deploy relational organizing tactics. Ambassadors will be granted access to a free relational organizing app for their mobile phones, through which they will build relationships with friends, family and classmates living in Georgia to register and vote in the January 5, 2021 Senate runoff election.

You can do everything safely from the comfort of home via your mobile phone. Easy and impactful, this volunteer opportunity will look good on your resume and/or college applications. Voting is your super power!

What does it take to become a Youth Voting Ambassador?

  • Must identify as a young woman and be between 18-25 years old, a Georgia resident and a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be committed to the idea that every vote counts.
  • Must abide by our code of conduct as outlined in our voter registration training and mobilization toolkit.
  • Must be willing to remain nonpartisan and NOT express any political opinions while serving in the ambassador capacity (you cannot endorse a specific candidate on any Youth Ambassador posts).
  • Cannot have a familial relationship with any candidate on the ballot.
  • Must refrain from using hateful language, symbols and other inappropriate speech when participating in online sharing and discussions.

What are the hours and duration?

Ambassadors are expected to dedicate a minimum of one hour per week from November 30 through January 5. Duties include reaching out to personal friends, family and social media networks to encourage voter registration and voting at least twice a week until Election Day.

Is there any compensation?

The ambassador position is an elevated volunteer position, not a job; however, those who meet or exceed goals will receive a stipend of $25/week for each week engaged (up to a maximum of 5 weeks). Stipends will be paid out post-election and are contingent upon demonstration of progress met (e.g., regular postings, successful recruitment of voter pledges/registrations).

What is the deadline to apply?

Inquiries will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. However, the sooner you sign up, the sooner you can begin earning a stipend!
