About: Social Skills in Motion is a holistic, children, and youth-centered operation using non-traditional sports and movement-based programs as a form of prevention and intervention for inner-city children. Founded by two licensed social workers, our programs offer a unique and person-centered approach aimed to address behavioral, psychosocial, intellectual, body regulation, and communication skill development.

Opportunity Description:

Social Skills in Motions is looking for a volunteer to work on a short-term web design project. We are looking for someone who has experience as a full-stack developer that can be responsible for the front and back end of the website. We are interested in using Squarespace as a small business subscription to be our host. We are seeking to create a visually appealing website that displays information about our services, about us, a calendar of events, pictures of services, "contact us" information, and an inquiry form. We will need to attach a registration/intake form for interested clients to download and complete, eventually, we will need an "email subscription" sign up. Lastly, we are hoping our volunteers will be able to show us the ropes in managing the website for the future. It will be important for us as co-founders to be able to make edits/adjustments as needed.

Mission Statement

Social Enterprise Greenhouse creates positive social and economic impact by providing social entrepreneurs and enterprises with the tools and networks they need to thrive. We also foster an ecosystem of diverse stakeholders who work to enable a more just, equitable and resilient economy.

Description

Since our pivot in 2009 from a chapter of the global network "Social Venture Partners", our mission has been to incubate and support social enterprise while simultaneously fostering a nurturing social impact ecosystem. In 2015, SEG’s relocation to our co-working space at 10 Davol Square, The SEG Hub, transformed the organization into the state’s leading neutral convener in the social sector. In 2016, the decision to offer programs targeting specific industries such as Food and Health & Wellness led to a significant increase in volunteers, mentors, corporate sponsors and strategic partnerships.
Today, SEG offers a robust menu of services that provide social entrepreneurs with the services they need throughout their lifecycle. We have become a trusted convener and technical assistance provider for organizations and businesses working to achieve both economic and community impact.
