Every Thursday afternoon, the St. Anthony's Dining Room becomes a mini farmers market where seniors living in SF's Tenderloin district receive healthy, fresh, and free groceries for the week!
In collaboration with the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, the Farmer's Market gives vital nutritional security to low-income senior citizens. Volunteers assist with set-up, check-in, grocery distribution, and clean-up.

There are no requirements or documentation necessary to eat in the Dining Room. The Dining Room is open at 11 a.m. for seniors 60 and older and families with children. Service for all other guests begins at noon. Seniors and families are served at their tables. The Dining Room also offers special accommodations to those with disabilities with recent medical documentation specifying disability. COVID-19 UPDATE: St. Anthony's is no longer offering dining room service, but are continuing to provide meals to the community to-go. 2 Hot meals per guest are served curbside in bags with silverware, sides, etc. from 10AM - 1:30PM daily. Description
In 1950, Fr. Alfred Boeddeker, a Franciscan friar in San Francisco, had a vision for a place where anyone could find a hot meal, a friendly face, and a helping hand. He created a place where people in need could enjoy a meal in community with others. Today, we provide Essential Services since food, clothing, shelter, safety, and hygiene are human rights, Health Care because every person should have access to quality medical care and recovery services, and Options for a Brighter Future since everyone should have access to technology, as well as the chance to learn valuable skills and find productive work that earns livable wages.
In addition to these important things that we bring to the community, here at St. Anthony’s we affirm that we are called to accompany our guests along their journey to achieve the results they desire, whether that is a single clean load of laundry or a year-long stay with us to recover from a substance use disorder.
