Are you a people person? The Host/Hostess is the first person our guests meet at Taste Community Restaurant. Hosts/Hostesses may explain our pay-what-you-can concept and ensure folks feel welcome and important. Host/Hostesses show guests to their seats and ensure everyone feels right at home.
- Greet guests as they come and go with a warm smile and making eye contact.
- Prepare tables for meals, including arranging additional chairs and/or high chairs and ensuring a clean table setting is prepared.
- Manage the flow of Guests into the Dining area, provide accurate wait times to incoming Guests if appropriate
- Inform Guest of current promotion and who will be serving them to ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff
- Clean and organize menus for reuse.
- Clean lobby floors and counters ensuring a tidy host stand.
- Open doors for guests as they come and go and welcoming them to come back again!

Arrive at 10:30am to enjoy your shift meal which is any entrée selected from our seasonal menu! This is an on-going opportunity Tuesday-Friday.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to feed, educate, and serve our community so they may "...taste and see the Lord is good." Psalm 34:8. We believe everyone should have access to healthy nutritional food. Our vision is to see our community become the solution to the challenges our community faces as it relates to hunger. Our first project, a non-profit restaurant, focuses on healthy, quality meals made from fresh ingredients. Our menu has no prices. This is a give and take concept. We ask guests to do one of the following: 1) pay what you can afford, 2) pay what you would typically pay, or 3) pay what you would typically pay, plus a little extra.
Description
Our volunteers are our Taste Buds. And, we cannot do this without you! 80% of our team is volunteers. From Greeters to Line Cooks and everyone in between; together, we can meet the needs of our community with love and dignity while working to end hunger together!

- Orientation or Training
- Shifts are 3.5 hours long and include a 1/2 hour to enjoy your shift meal.
- Training/Orientation is a prerequisite: sign up for a Host Training shift at www.tasteproject.org/newvolunteer. Children under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult when volunteering as a Host/Hostess.
