We are DEFEND. A 100% volunteer-run international organization aimed at reducing risk for children and vulnerable persons online.
Our Education Team is responsible for identifying and prioritizing what needs to be done for webinar development, production and other outgoing educational materials. Individual functional leads may be brought into the Committee as required to focus on these topics under the supervision of the team leaders.
The Education Team drives the engagement, promotion and building blocks for strategies and educational materials of the DEFEND Committee as well as oversee the development and production of technology and/or social media messaging. This includes managing communications with Committee Members. These leaders are responsible for ensuring the core principles of DEFEND (to advocate for protection of vulnerable persons/children online) remain at the centre of educational and/or social media messaging.
Team leads will also:
- Create agendas and meeting minutes/reports (a simple form)
- Set the schedule for meetings and make accommodations for team members and their various availability
- They will also infrequently report to DEFEND's Committee about the progress of their team
