We are a start up charity that needs assistance with our social media sites: Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/LinkedIn. Our charity's focus is to accept donated athletic medals and turn them into literacy achievement awards for students working to improve their reading/literacy. Connecting to runners, run companies, run events is key to our growth.
The volunteer we seek will help with content and post 2-3x a week. Candidate will go through our news feed and seek out influencers, and contact them to ask them to help spread our exposure or sponsor us.

Mission Statement
Runners-4-Readers is dedicated to providing a simple way for individuals to gift their medals. We partner with schools, community outreach and literacy programs to collaborate and honor students' reading accomplishments by repurposing the medals into literacy achievement awards.
Description
We launched our charity in May, 2020 and in 6 months have partnered with 3 large Detroit based literacy organizations to distribute our recycled medals too - approximately 1,000 medals to be donated by May, 2021. Additionally we have received medal donations from Ram Racing, the Parade Company, the Zoological Society and several individuals - we have approximately 7,000 medals that can be recycled into literacy awards. All great!
Our biggest issue is funding to cover operating costs and the continuous need of lanyards. We take the donated medals, removing the existing lanyards and replace it with a lanyard that has a child safety clasp and our logo.
Additionally, we lack sufficient exposure and experience on social media.
Our goals for 2021:
- triple our current literacy partners
- be recognized in the race community as a recycling option for runners to donate their medals
- purchase running jerseys and tshirts
-have representation at races to collect medals
