Status report: From an idea at the beginning of this year until now we have a mark 1 and 2 ventilator with a support oxygen generator prototypes to meet the Covid 19 emergency. To achieve the next step of mass production and international distribution we now require a corporate or general manager.

Position Description: Provide overall direction and management of the trust, to plan and oversee the major functions of our charitable trust through the departmental managers and subordinates to achieve ongoing product development, tooling, production, distribution, fundraising and medical support services.

The departments include software engineering, mechanical engineering, contract production/quality control, internet presence, accounting, human resources, acquisition, marketing, distribution, medical support and fundraising.

Studies and analyses relevant trends and data, reviews recommendations and reports, takes responsibility for preparation and presentation of the trusts reports, such as budgets, forecasts, annual reports which includes making reports available to the New Zealand companies office that provides oversight for this trust.

Decides or approves senior staff appointments.

Authorises funds to carry out policy or programmes.

Represents organisation at conferences, negotiations, official occasions and liaises with other organisations. Includes the involvement of the trustees when appropriate.

Training and/or experience required:

Degree or diploma such as an MBA

5+ years as manager in related areas

Considerable administrative experience.

Decision-making and planning skills.

Responsible to: This position is responsible to the Board of Trustees and may involve the trustees with regards to policy and other suchlike matters.

Every Year 4.2 million children under 5 are desperate for oxygen. 800,000 mothers lose their child every year because of Pneumonia, a lung disease often requiring oxygen. This toll is higher than for any other disease in the world. What hospitals in the US and Europe consider one of the most essential treatments is not available for many. The problem, oxygen concentrators keep breaking down in the high humidity, temperature and dust environments, burn through during energy spikes when the power comes back online after one of the many outages or simply breaks and nobody knows how to repair it.

We have set out to change this and develop an oxygen concentrator that will make public health investments much more effective. Our first calculations suggest that we could lower the cost of a child's life by as much as two-thirds. Due to our organization working with volunteers we can reduce the development cost but bringing a medical device to market is hard work and we expect that you meet the requirements and are responsive and transparent with your skills and availability.
