JAIA is seeking a Sales Associate who will embrace our mission to empower youth/young adults towards self-mastery and leadership. The Sales Associate will be responsible for connecting with target audiences and cultivating interest including Schools, Youth Agencies, YMCA’s, Camps as well as identifying and connecting with new target audiences. We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual with an engaging telephone presence and excellent communication skills. Our goal is to significantly increase sales of JAIA programs and services.

JAIA (Just As I AM) YOUth Empowerment is a personal development and leadership program for teens and young adults ages 16-21. We are a violence prevention program that empowers youth to build healthier communities by promoting mindfulness, mental health, and moral/ethical development.

Since 2010, JAIA YOUth Empowerment has been serving New York City communities with community empowerment workshops, leadership training institutes and community service learning projects.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing and communication
• Excellent telephone presence
• Demonstrated experience working in sales or marketing or business development
• Confidence working in a sales role
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Ability to work independently with a natural sense of urgency
• Above average computer skills with experience in internet research; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Google platforms; knowledge of on-line platforms
• Bachelor’s Degree and one-year or more of successful experience in sales, marketing, and/or business development

Significant successful experience in sales, marketing and/or business development with the product being programs and services

Basic Responsibilities

• Connect with target audiences to cultivate interest
• Identify and connect with new target audiences to cultivate interest
• Help develop and implement overall sales plans
• Meet with prospective clients - both in person and/or remotely; deliver sales presentations/proposals to prospective clients to promote and sell services; match with client requirements
• Prepare sales reports and recommendations for future sales initiatives
• Develop and manage client relationships
• Participate in networking opportunities
