Seeking local Veterans in Davidson/Williamson county that are willing to meet with hospice patients to provide companionship and caregiver support. Along with attending veterans events with volunteer coordinator.
This Veterans volunteer position requires a least 4 hours per week. All volunteers must undergo a TB skin test, background check, and drug screen at our cost prior to visiting with patients.
Volunteers do not provide any physical care to patients.
some volunteer task that may be asked:
- Attend pinning ceremonies
- Attend vet to vet cafes
- Attend other events related to veterans with volunteer coordinator
- Companionship
- prayer
- assistance with reading and writing
- provide short term respite for veteran patient's caregiver
Tasks will be agreed upon before volunteer sees patient.
*Volunteer must follow CDC guidelines for COVID 19*
