Responsibilities

  • Define, assess and understand our organization's programs, goals, and financial needs through the lens of foundation giving trends
  • Maintain the foundation prospect list and continue to identify, vet, and update the list
  • Prepare, submit, and corroborate grant proposals to federal, state, and local government agencies and foundations, as well as individual, family, and corporate funders while working closely with our organization’s subject matter experts.

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience as a grant writer
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to write clear, structured and persuasive proposals.
  • Have a solid understanding and commitment to our mission.
  • Good networking and PR skills.
  • Attend the weekly Development Team meetings online and update the progress as required.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Must be organized and strong attention to detail.

Description

The Destination Imagination program is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic Challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), fine arts and service learning. Our participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. Teams may showcase their solutions at a tournament.
