Overview

Our Public Relations & Social Media Director takes charge on ideating and developing marketing strategies and public relations activities, both internal and external. An innovative and strategy-oriented individual is needed to lead organized initiatives aimed towards increasing our presence among multiple populations, including but not limited to, sponsors, volunteers, and the community at large.

At Grace Grows, a 501(c)(3) organization in Alachua County, Florida, we empower individuals who are experiencing homelessness or food insecurity through horticulture.

Core Responsibilities

  • Create and distribute quarterly newsletter and donor reports
  • Promote the organization through public relations initiatives
  • Manage social media
  • Identify, develop and execute communications strategy for volunteers and key sponsors
  • Develop and manage media relationships
  • Seek out news or intellectual platforms to spread awareness of GRACE Grows

Experience & Education

  • Experience in marketing, advertising, communications, and/ or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field
  • Experience working with volunteers is desirable.

Skills

  • Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills
  • Passion for graphic design, attention to detail, and creativity
  • Proficiency with various social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram
  • Understand confidentiality and willing to sign a confidentiality agreement
