Overview

Our Fundraising and Event Planner will lead all events held by GRACE Grows, from creation to implementation and tracking of progress. At Grace Grows, a 501(c)(3) organization in Alachua County, Florida, we empower individuals who are experiencing homelessness or food insecurity through horticulture.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ideate and develop fundraising initiatives and strategies to ensure recurring contributions and encourage new contributions
  • Monitor progress of fundraising initiatives
  • Develop and maintain sponsors/ donors contact lists
  • Identify and build relationships with potential donors
  • Secure commitments of participation or donation from individuals and donors
  • Assist in establishing fundraising goals for events or specified time periods
  • Monitor budgets, expense reports, or other financial data for fundraising organizations.
  • Assist in creating reports to communicate fundraising effects for donors
  • Write and send letters of thanks to donors

Experience & Education

  • Minimum of 2 years of fundraising and/ or event planning experience; previous experiences in sales or marketing also acceptable
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field
  • Experience working with virtual fundraising/ event planning preferred
  • Experience managing a team

Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Quick thinker and ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Strong leadership skills
