As the weather gets colder, we are trying to make sure that our Team Members and other members of the unhoused community can stay warm! If you have any unwanted winter clothing or other equipment like tents or sleeping bags, please consider donating it! You can finally do that closet clean-out you've been putting off for months and make a difference in someone's life at the same time!
If you are part of a club, community, or organization, you can also consider setting up a donation drive to get more items donated. Simply decide what dates you'll be collecting, announce the drive to your group, and decide on a common location to drop-off donations.
Some ideas of warm items to donate are:
- Brand new adult socks
- New or gently used boots/sturdy shoes
- Coats and jackets
- Hats
- Scarves
- Gloves/mittens
- Tents and rain tarps
- Sleeping bags
- Blankets

Mission Statement
Downtown Streets Team's mission is to build Teams that restore dignity, inspire hope, and provide a pathway to recover from homelessness. Team Members volunteer their time to help beautify their community, and in exchange for their work they receive employment specialist and case management services to help them meet their goals, as well as a non-cash stipend to help them cover basic needs as they get back on their feet. We believe that the dignity our Teams provide is a powerful tool to motivate Team Members to be a part of their own solution. In the words of one of our Team Members, DST is a win-win-win situation: it's a win for the Team Member, a win for the community, and a win for the environment. Come join us in breaking down barriers and ending homelessness one day at a time!

Our Teams restore dignity, hope, and purpose to the lives of folks who are experiencing or at risk for homelessness while challenging perceptions of homelessness in their community.
