We are an offshoot of Above and Beyond Family Recovery Center in West Garfield and we have the same work ethic, appreciation for individual human pursuit and expression, and helping our brothers and sisters in need. This new location does NOT have any of the programming of our mothership location (anb.today) but is still staffed and operated by people with big hearts and deliberate intention to serve.
This opportunity is directly addressing the impacts of COVID-19, as volunteers will help provide Chicago residents with food assistance during the pandemic at a time of great economic hardship. The food stocker will make sure that the food is continually stocked, and will help keep track of the daily food inventory. This position might consist of bending and standing a lot, being able to lift fifty pounds, sweeping, mopping, and wiping down counters. This will be a fast-paced environment. A short Zoom interview is required.
We are also open to individuals who are in need of community service hours. We are looking for people who want to help others in this time of need.
Volunteers working at the food pantry will be provided with masks (if they don't have their own), gowns, gloves, and face masks while helping clients pick out food at our food pantry. We will adhere to the Greater Chicago Food Depository's COVID-19 Guidelines as well.
The food stocker volunteer position will be working in three hour shifts (12-3 p.m. or 3-6 p.m.) and will be working at least three days a week--Monday, Wednesday, and Friday but hours are very open to whatever someone can work.
11:00 AM to 03:00 PM

03:00 PM to 07:00 PM

Our clients and clinicians create therapeutic alliances that design and execute personalized programs of recovery that co-exist side-by-side personal development and growth goals. We believe that recovery is a process that requires meeting individuals where they are at as well as addressing their environmental life circumstances such as: education, employment readiness, interpersonal relationships, and social reintegrative abilities and activities.
We are a 501C3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals who seek recovery from alcohol and drugs at no charge whatsoever. We're free.
