The Website Manager will be an integral part of our team as we seek to expand our outreach and build the community for A Ring of Hope. They will work closely with the Director of Development throughout the entirety of the volunteer role.
Summary:
Maintains all of and creates minimal content for A Ring of Hope’s website, with responsibilities for technological aspects. Additional responsibilities include ongoing web strategy and overseeing website operation with particular attention to design, content, and site maintenance. Updates website content, including information, images, etc., according to the changing needs of A Ring of Hope. Works with the Director of Development of A Ring of Hope to plan, maintain, and improve online presence. Initiates new ways to enhance and develop A Ring of Hope’s website presence. This is a telecommuting position and all work will be done remotely.
Principal responsibilities:
- Participates as a contributing member of the A Ring of Hope team
- Maintains, updates, and oversees website operation and content
Technology responsibilities
- Maintains proficiency in Squarespace’s website products.
- Trains A Ring of Hope’s staff on using Squarespace’s content management system as needed
Site content responsibilities:
- Updates information contained on the site.
- Updates general content as requested periodically by Director of Development
- Troubleshoots any problems with the website
- Works with Director of Development to facilitate the organization’s plan and vision for the website in relation to the organization’s marketing program
- Assists with the review of site statistics and analytics
Qualifications :
- Excellent communication and writing skills, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, composition, editing, and proofing
- Adept at online content management systems
- Proficiency in website design and website maintenance, both on a daily level and for larger website-related projects
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, etc. as needed
- Expertise in design, graphics and layout related to websites
- Possess web writing and design skills
- Proficiency in Squarespace (or website system) is a plus
- Interpersonal/collaboration skills
- Communication skills (including ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written communication; understand and follow written and oral instructions)
- Time management skills
- Problem solving skills (including ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner)
- Quality of work skills
- Information technology skills

A RING OF HOPE has a primary focus of assisting vulnerable children, since children are our future. We seek culturally appropriate solutions and focus on providing physiological and psychological care and support to ensure children’s essential needs are met. Our two projects are COVID Relief in Kosele, Kenya,and the construction of Baraka Orphanage also in Kosele, Kenya.
