The DREAM Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides high-quality education and learning opportunities to at-risk youth in the Dominican Republic. We believe that quality early and continuing education is the most effective way to break the cycle of poverty and change destinies. Our mission is to run inclusive, sustainable education programs for children and youth in the Dominican Republic that can be replicated throughout impoverished global communities.

Public relations and marketing ensures that the brand and programmatic impact of The DREAM Project is recognized locally, nationally and internationally. DREAM uses a variety of media including print, radio, television, internet and social to communicate key messages about organizational programming and events. Public relations and marketing initiatives also focus on establishing strong contacts and relationships with key partners and stakeholders both in the Dominican Republic and abroad.

Position Summary:
The DREAM Public Relations and Marketing Fellow will work under the Marketing Manager, supporting social media and general marketing activities. The position will be based in Cabarete, Dominican Republic and include various roles within the organization’s programs, so flexibility is a very important aspect of the position.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on existing and new marketing campaigns.
  • Provide support in writing content for social media.
  • Assist in the development of promotional materials.
  • Create content for our various programs (take photos, videos, etc.).
  • Maintain organization of content in DREAM’s files in Dropbox.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or media is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • Experience with graphic design
  • Experience writing for social media platforms
  • Experience with Adobe, Canva and editing videos
  • Advanced Spanish skills (oral and written proficiency)
  • High level of professionalism and integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Prior experience working in an intercultural environment and developing country preferred

Costs: Fellows commit to fundraising a specific amount to cover their expenses. Full sponsorship is available for Dominican-Americans and for candidates with relevant experience.
