50/50 Leadership is committed to promoting women's leadership. Our current programs provide financial literacy workshops and mentoring to women who are former foster youth, have been incarcerated, unhoused, and/or survived gender-based violence. Programs and events are informative, educational and entertaining in service to our mission to empower, educate, and inspire women.

Bring you experience, talents, and ideas to our nonprofit organization. We have a vibrant marketing team and need someone to create strategy, direct, guide and lead the team.

We have been evolving our marketing strategies to engage different audiences in our programs relative to their own life stages and circumstances.

You will build and optimize go-to market strategies, build organizational structure for marketing, and help mentor the marketing volunteers. You will play a key part in building marketing strategies for membership & educational programs and collaborating with other board members and team leads.

As a Board Member you will:

  • Chair the marketing team - including social media, communications, website, newsletter
  • Commit to a term of 2 years
  • Attend monthly board meetings (currently on zoom at 6pm on the 3rd month of each month)
  • Donate to 50/50 Leadership at the level of $1,000 for the year and support fundraising efforts
  • Attend virtual fundraising event or other virtual events during the year, when possible.

We are an almost 100% volunteer-led organization thus we rely on the integrity, guidance and work of our Board members. Board members do not just govern the organization, they lead it. Each of our Chairs has volunteers to work with them as a team, and more volunteers can be recruited to round out your team.

The process for board membership:

  • Phone or zoom interview
  • Send bio, photo, statement of interest, and what you hope to contribute/accomplish as a board member
  • Brief interview with the Board
  • Vote by Board
  • Orientation to the Board
  • Meet with Board members to create a strategy, timeline, and resources needed.

There is a 3-month trial - so both you and the board can ensure a good fit.

Ready to roll up your sleeves and join us? We are a fabulous group of passionate team players. Email volunteers@5050leadership.org

Mission Statement

50/50 Leadership is committed to Empowering, Educating, and Inspiring women from all walks of life to become Leaders in their careers and communities. Make a difference.

Description

Established in 2004, we provide financial literacy programs to young women who have grown up in foster care, been incarcerated, been unhoused, and/or survived gender-based violence. In the past, we led leadership training programs and honored women who are making a difference around the world.

We feel that every girl and woman should have the opportunity to realize their leadership potential. Whether they are a leader in their home, at work, school or in the community.

We are women and men from all walks of life who agree that leadership should reflect the gender of the population: women make up more than half of the U.S. population and should be equally included in boardrooms, elected offices, academia, and all public and private enterprises and endeavors.
