Mission Statement

Manna has been serving the community of the Conejo Valley for over 50 years! Founded in 1971 by a group of people who felt that no person should ever go hungry in the Conejo Valley, Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank has made it our mission -- "To feed hungry people in the Conejo Valley". Unlike many food pantries in the area, Manna is not formally affiliated with any religious organization, nor are we federally funded in any way. More than 95% of the food Manna distributes each year is donated by organizations, businesses, and individuals from around the Conejo Valley. Funding is provided through generous donors and grant writing efforts.

Description

We provide food to those who are experiencing food insecurity. They may have suffered a job loss, family transition or are living on a fixed income. We serve more than 7,500 people annually. We are a unique choice-based food pantry. Our clients choose the items that they would like instead of receiving a prepackaged box of food. We provide a wide variety of non-perishable items, canned and packaged, and some personal care items as well as a changing choice of bread, eggs, produce, and frozen meat. Clients leave with more than 100 lbs of food per visit. One visit to Manna will provide an estimated 100 meals. Our clients are residents of the Conejo Valley.
