The Side-Out Ambassador Program

Will you join our revolution to extend the lives of women living with stage IV breast cancer? Are you looking for a powerful, COVID-safe volunteer opportunity that will change not only the lives of those you serve but your own?

For over a decade, The Side-Out Foundation has witnessed more than 160,000 students make a positive difference through our Student Ambassador Program- educating themselves on metastatic breast cancer, actively engaging their local communities through advocacy, and raising more than $15 million to fund our leading metastatic breast cancer research. COVID-19 has made it difficult to connect with others in traditional ways, but the grave impacts of stage IV breast cancer will not slow down for this pandemic- so neither can we. The time is now to lean in, re-imagine volunteerism, and fearlessly continue to serve: we need and would love you on board!

As a Side-Out Ambassador, you’ll have the chance to win an award for a successfully run campaign, as well as one of nine college scholarships after completing the program. We’ll mentor you through the entire process- matching you with one of our Side-Out "Impact Coaches" and giving you an 'Impact Playbook’, with ideas for actively advocating for breast cancer awareness within your local communities, completing your required education hours, and raising significant funds for our breast cancer research. At the conclusion of the program, you’ll send us a short, compelling essay and your sponsor’s letter of recommendation when applying to receive an award and one of our nine college scholarships.

"If we come together as one, we can use our power to spread awareness and end cancer for good."- Kayla Podgurski, 2017 Side-Out Ambassador. Kayla, along with thousands of others, knows what it means to use the power of advocacy and engagement to change, and in our case, extend lives. Our unprecedented approach goes above the standard level of cancer patient care, using precision medicine to dissect a woman’s specific breast cancer archetype and find them the right treatment, at the right time. Our Ambassadors don’t just gain valuable leadership experience, but the confidence, knowledge, and skills that prepare them to pursue and achieve any future goals.

We look forward to honoring and extending the lives of stage IV women with you! Please contact us with your interest at 877-344-7465 or email us at ap@side-out.org

Mission Statement

The Side-Out Foundation is both a nonprofit and research organization committed to providing life-extending solutions for those with stage IV breast cancer while giving anyone receiving a breast cancer diagnosis hope for more tomorrows.

Description

Whether stage IV breast cancer is someone’s first diagnosis or a recurrence following treatment for earlier-stage breast cancer, once the cancer has metastasized, it cannot be eradicated. While breast cancer treatment has vastly improved, patients with late-stage breast cancer will remain in treatment for the rest of their lives and the need for innovative treatment solutions is ongoing.

Side-Out is committed to providing solutions for the stage IV breast cancer community and strives to be a resource for all those living with breast cancer in search of answers and treatment options.
