Position: Marketing and Communications Chair

Lead the Marketing and Communications Committee to direct DFU’s overall comprehensive marketing and communications strategy. Help board team to oversee a consistent and active communication strategy to the community, partners, and potential partners for the purposes of recruitment, program messaging, fundraising, awareness and branding.

Marketing and Communications Chair responsibilities

• Contribute to establishing organizational marketing, branding and communication plans and initiatives.
• Build creative marketing outreach programs that will drive sponsors and attendance to events and fundraisers.
• Write, distribute, and publish (in collaboration with committee members) various marketing communications channels and web presences including, electronic/social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), newsletter, public relations, email communications, website, and printed collateral.
• Maintain and build relationships with key partners and sponsors in the community and members of the press in conjunction with the organization’s efforts.
• Evaluate effectiveness of marketing initiatives both internally and externally. Strategize with board/committee members on ways to improve and provide support where needed.
• Identify key speaking engagements and other opportunities for board members to help bring awareness to the organization.
• Write and distribute press releases to local news outlets and other internet boards.
