Art Works for Change is a nonprofit organization that creates contemporary art exhibitions, storytelling projects, and educational programming to address critical social and environmental issues.
In 2019, we launched an Environmental Leadership Internship program to help youth visualize the impact of global warming and the pathways to solving the climate crisis. In this program, high school students learn about climate policies, advocacy techniques, and the role of storytelling in promoting engagement. In addition, our interns develop their own storytelling projects, such as climate-themed games, interactive fiction, music compositions, and poetry events, which they use to mobilize their networks and spur grassroots action.
Your role would be to research scientific and environmental content on the internet to assist our team with the creation of educational materials, games, interactive stories, and other components of our program. Plus, you will get to join a fun, passionate team, working for an important cause--and build your own skills and network in the process. Remote volunteers are happily accepted.
We get a lot done for a small organization! Learn more about us in this New York Times feature: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/13/arts/design/museums-inspire-social-activism-politics.html?_r=0

Mission Statement
Art Works For Change is a nonprofit organization that creates contemporary art exhibitions to address critical social and environmental issues. We seek to harness the power of art to promote awareness, provoke dialogue and inspire action.
Description
Our museum-quality exhibitions are hosted by fine art institutions all over the world. The artists we feature educate the public and foster dialogue through the unique voice of contemporary art. Each of our exhibitions is complemented by local educational and outreach opportunities at each destination, building critical mass for social action, and leaving behind a legacy of local activism.
We also feature online exhibitions and educational programming on multiple platforms to broaden the reach of our exhibitions and connect with new audiences.
