Data Management/Entry Volunteer
Awaken Pittsburgh is a small nonprofit that works to transform lives and systems through mindfulness-based social and emotional regulation practices. We have grown to the point where we need support in managing our data systems. Currently we use Little Green Light as a donor database, Mail chimp for newsletter mailings, Asana for program management and are looking to use a CRM for organizing our client/business contacts. This position would work with the Executive Director and Board members to support:
Data Entry/Maintenance. Skills needed: Knowing how to enter and remove records into various software/apps. Ability to organize data in ways that best serve the organization.
Navigate Database Software . Skills needed: Knowing how to use database software to find records, sort, review, edit, print, and other functions. Knowing how to use built-in forms and reports in a database. Exploring the software and learning various functions and features. Writing queries and reports using available tools. Teaching others to use the software.
Data Integrity . Understanding definitions, program guidelines, and sources of data. Reviewing data and working with ED/Board to make sure that data is accurate.
Managing Accounts and Files . Keeping track of online accounts and helping others to keep track of their accounts, usernames and passwords. Knowing how to organize files and folders on our computer or network.
Database Design and Planning . Understanding database design concepts, including "relational database design" concepts (table structure; one-to-many relationships). Understanding the benefits and limits of various types of databases Ability to participate in short-term and long-term planning about database projects and to decide how to efficiently store and analyze various types of data.
Anticipated Time Commitment : 3-5 hours per week -- this might be more in set up phases and less once for regular maintenance.
