Woodside High School's Online Paper

Do you have experiences in Journalism: Reporters, Sports, TV, or Movies? Please share your experience!

Digital Journalism students create the Woodside Paw Print online newspaper. Students are encouraged to follow their interests in the context of producing an interesting, quality paper that acts as a voice for Woodside High School students. Digital Journalists pride themselves on the wide-ranging skills and styles of themselves and their classmates.

The Woodside Paw Print is the multimedia news source of Woodside High school and its community.

We would like to offer 30+ minutes of live zoom interactions to students this coming fall, our dates are flexible and we will work around your schedule!

Asking presenters to cover:
  • Start with an overview of your career pathway, beginning with what you were interested in high school, college, early jobs, etc. and what you do today
  • What key steps do you think helped make you successful? Was there an opportunity that you took? A risk? An important mentor or job?
  • Then talk about some of the exciting stories that you are working with or direct today. Can you give them a challenge to demonstrate this? Maybe a topic/story and a few ways to address it?
  • Finally, wrap up by bringing it down to their level, what 1-2 steps can they do now? join a club or team, meet with a teacher, etc.
Contact Faith Velschow for information on the classes, curriculum, and suggested presentation format.
