As Angel Tree gift bags are brought to the Eagle Creek facility, we will have volunteers assisting us in quality checking and sorting these bags in preparation for distribution. This will include checking to make sure all items are age appropriate and the correct sizes, labeling bags, and sorting them into place for the day of distribution. This is a great opportunity for groups of 6-10 individuals to serve together, such as a church group, sports team, or group of coworkers!
Volunteer shifts are scheduled each week as follows:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 9am-12pm & 1-4pm
Tuesday & Thursday: 12-3pm, 3-6pm

Please note that the week of Thanksgiving, we will only be working on Monday and Tuesday on sorting and processing.

Volunteers for this project must be 6 years or older to volunteer. Volunteers under the age of 18 MUST be working directly with an adult throughout their time of service in order to participate.

Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Description

Using both paid staff and volunteers, we repond to disasters locally, nationally and internationally. Moreover, we repond to individual plights within Indiana whether the circumstances involve domestic violence, substance abuse, at risk children, homelessness, joblessness and other situations where people need help and training. We have multiple programs and service-specific centers in and around Indiana. We have special events as fundraisers, donation collections and to increase awareness. "Need knows no season" so we are in constant pursuit of finding ways to make a difference and offer the gift of God's love.
