Help prevent overdoses and the spread of HIV and Hepatitis C

ORGANIZATION: HIV Alliance

HIV Alliance is a non-profit agency which specializes in harm reduction by providing free HIV and Hepatitis C testing, and needle exchange services. Needle Exchange programs help prevent the spread of HIV and Hepatitis C by exchanging used and potentially contaminated syringes for new ones. We safely destroy nearly a million used syringes each year, keeping them out of parks and other public areas. Through Needle Exchange we can connect individuals who use intravenous drugs to community resources like treatment services. We also distribute Naloxone (aka Narcan) which is the medication that can reverse an opioid overdose. We provide training on how to use Naloxone to individuals and community groups.

Services are provided:

  • in Brookings from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of the month
  • In Gold Beach from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of the month
