Turnout Nation is offering both paid and unpaid VIRTUAL Ambassadorships for Georgians who want to gain leadership and civic engagement experience from November 4, 2020 through January 5th. Ambassadors will be part of a project to increase voter turnout in the Georgia federal runoff elections on January 5th, which are expected to be close races and determine our Senate majority.

What is Turnout Nation?

Turnout Nation is a nonpartisan nonprofit that equips volunteers called Voting Captains with effective tools and strategies to encourage 10 people in their own social networks to vote in every election! Members of the Turnout Nation community support each other in this common goal. That’s it! We believe that the more people voting in every election the better. Genuine conversation between friends about voting is a relief from information overload, misinformation, voting deterrence, and partisan messaging.

We’re invested in this method because it works. In 2020, we conducted a voter turnout study with Dr. Donald Green of Columbia University in four different municipal elections. The study found that reaching out personally to 10 friends to help them vote raised voter turnout 10x more effectively than phone banking or canvassing!

How do Turnout Nation Ambassadors and Captains make a difference?

Turnout Nation VotingCaptains brainstorm 10 people in their social network and reach out to them to chat about voting, and remind them of registration and election deadlines. Research has shown that friend-to-friend mobilization is the best way to get more people consistently voting. Because we're non-partisan, there's no pressure to talk about any specific candidate or issue. You know your friends and family best. You're the best person to reach out to them and make sure they're voting!

Turnout Nation provides current voting information as well as tips and tricks on how to persuade those around you to vote. Everything is accessible from your phone on a handy mobile app. We connect you with a knowledgable organizer who you can reach out to if you have any questions. We'll verify your outreach as community service hours.

Turnout Nation Ambassadors work with us to recruit and organize Captains in their community.

If you're interested in being an Ambassador or a Voting Captain, express your interest on VolunteerMatch, visit our website, or send us an email at info@turnoutnation.org. We can't wait to work with you!
