As an Audio, Video and Lighting Technician, this role will set up, test, operate and manage connection and troubleshooting of audio, video and lighting equipment with special emphasis on supporting Zoom conferencing events.

JAARS is a multidisciplinary team of problem-solvers committed to the belief-and the vision that people’s lives and communities are transformed as they experience God’s Word in their own language.

We are a community of full-time missionaries, dedicated volunteers and a few employees who work together to accomplish the Great Commission goal of providing Scripture to every people group on earth in a language and form they clearly understand. We do that by supporting Bible translation and language development partners globally and by working with prayer and financial partners in the United States to help make a range of unique on-the-field solutions possible. Position Responsibilities

  • Set up and coordinate equipment, such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events, meetings, conferences and presentations
  • Set up and operate sound equipment; coordinate audio feeds with video images; monitor sound feeds to ensure audio quality by mixing sound inputs and feeds.
  • Set up lighting arrangements, including operating spotlights and managing computer-controlled lighting systems.
  • Confer with meeting or event coordinator to establish cues, directions and equipment in designated layout.
  • Test and resolve equipment issues; diagnose root cause and correct media system problems; send in equipment for repairs as needed.
  • Maintain and clean audio and video equipment and store it properly.
  • Assist with other technical duties as needed.
Position Requirements
  • A deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal spiritual growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth
  • Embrace the vision, mission and core values of JAARS
  • Technical aptitude and ability to perform the above responsibilities, preferably minimum six months experience with Audio Visual and/or Lighting equipment
  • Operational familiarity with most Zoom functions, including integrating live stream video, breakout room set up, monitoring chat feeds, etc.
  • High school, college, or vocational education specializing in audio, visual and/or lighting
