Volunteer as an Engagement Guide with the NEW Institute of Contemporary Art, San Diego! Lux Art Institute and San Diego Art Institute are preparing for an historic merger this fall, and are seeking passionate volunteers to assist us as we engage with our new and returning visitors! Engagement Guides are a fundamentally important part of the visitor’s experience as our Engagement Guides (EGs) serve as the link between the exhibitions shown at ICA San Diego and our visitors' understanding of contemporary art. This opportunity is open to anyone seeking a volunteer opportunity that offers exposure to contemporary art and artists from all around the globe. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
ICA San Diego Gallery Attendant: The Gallery Attendants will have the exciting opportunity to assist the ICA San Diego Visitor Experience team in welcoming visitors during our Open Hours or during ICA San Diego Events. These positions will require facilitating dialogue between visitors while answering questions about our current exhibitions. Additionally, some exhibitions will require more care than others, specifically reminding visitors of the fragility of the work shown and to not touch or handle the artwork.ICA San Diego Event Support: The Event Support volunteers will have the unique opportunity to work alongside members of our Events/Visitor Experience Team during our ICA San Diego Art Events. This exciting opportunity will allow for volunteers to experience assisting with Opening Receptions, workshops, contemporary art lectures and discussions. This position includes assisting with events set-up or clean-up and answering questions from visitors. Events can take place during or outside of our normal Open Hours.24 Shifts
