ORGANIZATION: Fortitude Careers

  • 1 person is interested

Fortitude is in its third year as a youth focused, life skills and trade skills training nonprofit. Our leadership team has 30+ years executive experience in corporate business and has worked hard to ensure that our program has a solid business foundation. This volunteer opportunity would mostly be document review to ensure we are in compliance with the law and we are not leaving ourselves open to risk. Documents include a participant agreement for enrollment, liability limitations, privacy policy and volunteer forms.

About Fortitude Careers

Location:

425A Oak Ave, Redwood City, CA 94061, US

Mission Statement

Fortitude is a comprehensive youth and community development program that addresses several core community issues: job readiness, employment, mental health challenges, diminishing crime and poverty, and individual leadership development. It addresses the status of unemployed youth who have no clear path to a productive future to support their lives, families, and contribute to their communities

Description

Fortitude is a program in service to the community, in which young people learn the skills to build a career in the construction field, and have the opportunity to develop those skills by building "ADU’s" (accessory dwelling units or tiny houses). The ADU’s will be offered to municipalities (in accordance with established regulations,) to be used as housing for those experiencing homelessness and other low-income people, often serving beneficiaries from the types of communities where the participants themselves have grown up.
