Transitions Hospice is seeking volunteers to write the life stories of terminally ill patients! These are the stories, told in the patient's own words, which will be given to their families during their bereavement period. Studies show that providing these stories to families can assist in alleviating some of their grief, and are treasured greatly as an ongoing connection to their loved one. As a Life Story Volunteer with Transitions Hospice, you will meet with patients on a regular basis and add to their storybook with each visit. While we are encouraging observance of physical distancing, hand-washing, and masking guidelines, through the use of the written word, you can still provide families with the comfort they need and make an impact for years to come! Volunteers are needed in Polk, Dallas, Hickory, St. Clair, Greene, and Cedar counties in Missouri, so if you have a talent for writing, typing, recording, or scrapbooking, you may apply by calling 417-777-2703.
