The Viet-CARE team is looking for technical support with website development. Gain experience serving alongside dedicated, community-focused volunteers.

Viet-CARE, an entirely volunteer-based grassroot non-profit in Orange County, California, has been able to improve the mental well-being of our communities by leveraging resources to address the stigma of mental health. It is our mission to connect those interested/able to help with individuals/families affected by mental health disparities. Our website as a platform provides us the opportunity to centralize our journey and serve as a crossroads for mental health support. In this role, you will volunteer closely with the Viet-CARE administrative team to collaborate on a website design that is welcoming, informational, and sustainable. We invite everyone, even with little experience, who have the heart to help others and are wanting to contribute to an organization that puts the community first.

Description

Viet-CARE was founded in Orange County, California by Paul Hoang, a licensed clinical social worker-whose years of missionary experiences and growing passion to better serve people with mental illnesses, especially among the Vietnamese communities-led him to reach out and share his dreams to whoever was willing to listen. Viet-CARE began on July 2008 when Paul Hoang convened a meeting among Vietnamese mental health professionals (psychologists, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, rehabilitation specialists, and other professionals) with a passion to help individuals suffering from mental illnesses to address the mental health needs of the Vietnamese community.

Since then, Viet-CARE has been able to leverage community resources to provide meaningful mental health education and support for our communities here in Orange County and beyond entirely through volunteerism. All of our services focus on the improving the social-emotional well-being of our communities by informing consumers, caregivers, health/mental health professionals, and policymakers through compassion, empowerment, and collaboration.
