Position Purpose

The purpose of this role is to virtually recreate the energy and spirit of a radiothon volunteer phone bank. This year, we are unable to gather in person but volunteers can still support and energize our radio partners by signing up for a shift!

Volunteers will log in via video conference call to cheer and celebrate K102's on-air radio team as they meet their hourly fundraising goals. Volunteers will also listen to the radiothon and have exclusive access to watch the radiothon behind the scenes.

Each shift will have an ALSAC staff person leading the video call to provide volunteer instructions, updates on fundraising goals and queue volunteer for cheers/celebrations. Volunteers can also opt in to participate in our hourly trivia game or radiothon bingo, win prizes and receive live time updates on ways they can support the radiothon virtually.

Volunteer will receive the K102 Country Cares for St. Jude "Wont Stop" t-shirt and a cheer kit prior to the event.
Important: In an effort to keep our mailing costs low, volunteer t-shirts and kits will only be mailed to Minnesota volunteers and volunteers in neighboring states (WI, IA,ND & SD)

Please note that volunteers under the age of 18 will need to fill out a Youth Waiver Form. Volunteers under the age of 18 please email giselle.tato.contractor@stjude.org to register.

About ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Location:

5353 Wayzata Blvd, Suite 500, St. Louis Park, MN 55416, US

Mission Statement

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. It is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent, and we won't stop until no child dies from cancer. St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

Description

Local hospitals are vital to the health of children in every community. But St. Jude Children's Research Hospital(r) has a unique mission - to generate the knowledge that will save the lives of hundreds of thousands of children stricken with cancer and other catastrophic diseases throughout the nation and around the world.

We remain committed to our founder Danny Thomas' dream that some day no child will die in the dawn of life. We urge you to help us by becoming a part of our great mission of finding cures and saving children.
