Hosparus Health of Barren River needs volunteers in Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson, and Warren counties. Companionship volunteers will have the opportunity to visit with a patient to provide companionship, relieve loneliness, and share interests. During your visit you will often sit and talk and may play games, cards, or read. As a volunteer you may be visiting a patient who does not have friends or family, or visiting while family is present.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing measures must be enforced while visiting with all patients. Each visit must be outside or through an open window, and there must be 6 feet or more of distance between yourself and the patient. A mask must be worn at all times by the volunteer. Volunteers are required to complete a self-assessment prior to visiting with any patients.
Hosparus Health volunteers must be in good health, have available transportation, and complete an application and required training. The organization needs volunteers of all ages and interests. Volunteer opportunities will be on-going as long as the volunteer remains compliant with necessary requirements.
