Volunteer Online - From Home!
United Way's VITA Tax Service provides tax assistance to households with up to $66,000 annually. VITA taxpayers receive the maximum refund possible without paying hundreds of dollars in preparation costs.
The VITA program helps taxpayers access all of the tax credits for which they are eligible, including the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credits which now are the best safety nets for low-income working families. Claiming these credits puts taxpayers on the path to paying off debt, securing better housing, obtaining dependable transportation, or pursuing higher education. Their spending generates millions of dollars in economic impact for their community.
As part of a coalition of Arizona VITA organizations, we helped over 13,000 households and brought over $23,000,000 back to them and to their communities. You can be a part of the team that makes this possible!
Don’t know that much about taxes? No experience is necessary to become an effective, impactful VITA volunteer. We provide all necessary training in the month of January.
Get Involved! We are looking for new and experienced tax preparers and also for people who want to help manage the flow of taxpayers through our sites and system.

For more than 80 years, United Way has held a reputation as our community's fundraiser, but United Way doesn't just raise money.
Today's United Way is a focused, results-driven system working year-round to change community conditions and create lasting solutions.
Much like a "general contractor" manages all aspects of constructing a building, we manage people and resources to create lasting, positive solutions in lives that need it most.
Through strong partnerships with volunteers, local business, government and nonprofit organizations, United Way accomplishes what no one can do alone.
