AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP - Cache & Rich Counties
If you are 55 and older, you are needed to provide socially-distanced companionship phone calls to isolated older adults in the community. These individuals may live in their own home, or in residential care facilities. Older adults are feeling more loneliness than ever because of the pandemic. Since loneliness has many negative consequences on health, memory, and happiness, your service can make a huge difference!
You are expected to:
-Call the client once a week
-Be friendly
-Be a good listener
-Ask engaging questions
AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP volunteers must pass a criminal history background check and complete an orientation before beginning service. They are then matched with a community member to call on a regular basis. Service time is flexible, with an hour per week.

Combating senior loneliness, isolation, and hunger one volunteer at a time!
RSVP of Cache & Rich Counties connects retired volunteers 55 and older to homebound, disabled, and lonely older adults and to family caregivers. We provide companionship phone calls, respite services, online caregiver tips, COVID-19 grocery delivery, and fidget quilts for people with cognitive impairment/dementia.
We only require our volunteers to serve an hour a week, with flexibility in schedules! We have kept volunteers engaged during COVID, making service accessible in their own homes.
AmeriCorps Seniors funds our program, and we are connected with Sunshine Terrace Foundation. We love to serve the community and keep our older adults engaged, happy, and fulfilled.
We'll work with your schedule.
