Here's your chance to help further an important mission for a non-profit while meeting new local people. Dates and hours are flexible; weekday business hours preferred.

We have high quality art cards that need to be removed from envelopes (we were going to do a mailing but had to alter plans) and stacked in boxes. It's simple non-thinking work that allows for chatter with others while performing a necessary duty!

The Harry Bertoia Foundation is all about Harry Bertoia, a prolific artist who designed midcentury modern furniture, crafted jewelry, made abstract metal sculptures and completed over 50 commissioned public art pieces.

About Harry Bertoia Foundation

Location:

1449 N 1450 W, Ste 11, St George, UT 84770, US

Mission Statement

We further the legacy of Harry Bertoia, midcentury modern designer and abstract metal sculptor. His 50+ monumental nationwide sculptures, the iconic modernist furniture, and his amazing sounding sculptures are known worldwide, but now we will connect the Bertoia name with the pieces. We educate students of all ages, loan sculptures for museum exhibitions, and provide resources of all sorts to organizations.

Description

Founded in 2010, we have sponsored numerous university interns, begun the cataloging of Bertoia's entire ouevre, coordinated several major exhibitions, and offered more than 50 public lectures about Harry Bertoia.

We are seeking a museum home for the 60 sounding sculptures to allow the public to experience the sacred concerts of Sonambient (the artist's own collection of sounding sculptures). We are locally relevant as well as nationally important.

We are excited to share the legacy and works of Harry Bertoia with school groups (elementary to college), professional organizations, and community groups.
