Do you want to do something good for your community? Are you from Windham County, Vermont or Cheshire County, New Hampshire? Do you believe in giving a person a second chance for a small crime rather than a jail sentence? Do you want to help people in this position make amends and find a new way forward? If so, being a court diversion volunteer panelist is for you! With only 2½ hours a month on one of our restorative justice panels, you can have a big impact on our community. All you have to do is be open minded and compassionate.
Our Diversion Program assists individuals who have committed crimes to take responsibility for their actions, discuss who was harmed, understand how they were harmed, and make amends in a meaningful way to make things as right as possible.
Volunteer training is required, and is scheduled for every Tuesday evening in January, 2021 (January 5, 12, 19, and 26) from 6pm-8pm over zoom. If this interests you, please email Samantha French at Samantha.french@youthservicesinc.org or call (802) 257-0361 ex: 134 for a volunteer application and we will be in contact with you soon!
