Rescuing Leftover Cuisine Massachusetts (RLCMA) is an organization that connects available food to those who need it. Our online calendar posts available "Food Rescue Events" for volunteers to sign up to pick up food from local businesses and deliver to organizations and households experiencing food insecurity. The upcoming months will remain critically challenging for those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. RLCMA needs more Food Rescue Heroes. Eligibility and safety guidelines have been put in place to ensure everyone's safety.
Paid Food Rescuers Positions Available:
We are seeking dedicated, passionate Food Rescuers who are committed to social, environmental and local action. The purpose of these positions is to minimize safety risks, enhance reliability of services and systemize operations for our home deliveries. The result: we will feed more people on a more consistent basis. RLCMA is happy to provide any documentation needed for students to receive internship credit for their university/college program.
Responsibilities:
- Paid Rescuer must commit to a minimum of 2 home delivery events per week on a recurring basis for 4 weeks or more (ideally 3-10 events per week for 8 weeks or more if possible).
Skills & Qualifications:
- Standard driver's license
- Passion for food waste prevention and/or anti-hunger
- Strong organizational and oral communication skills
- Ability to self-start, prioritize, and work independently without supervision
- Reliable, dependable and punctual
- Patient, sensitive, flexible and positive attitude
- Ideal but not necessary: Ability to speak and understand Spanish and/or Haitian Creole

Compensation:
$30 for each home delivery Event that is 3-5 stops (averages 2 hours to complete, or 1 hour if combined with another event picking up at same donor)
$15 for each human service agency delivery Event that is 1 stop (average 50 minutes to complete, or as little as 15 minutes if combined with another event)

Description
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit food rescue organization. RLC uses a custom web application to crowdsource community members as "Rescuers" to transport excess food from food donor partners to nonprofit recipients, feeding people instead of landfills.
