Food insecurity has risen 300% in Massachusetts, yet 40% of food is thrown out. Rescuing Leftover Cuisine bridges the gap between excess food and the people who need it through our network of volunteers and the use of our technology platform.
Volunteer with Rescuing Leftover Cuisine Massachusetts to transport excess food and meals prepared specifically for donation from businesses to human service agencies, permanent housing residents and students' families who are experiencing food insecurity.
Since 2017, RLC volunteers throughout the Bay State have rescued and delivered over 300,000 meals provided by 82 food donor partners to 87 human service agencies at no cost to the recipient.
In response to the pandemic, RLCMA launched new initiatives to meet the critical and urgent needs of our recipient partners. As a result, we have delivered over 100,000 pounds of donated food since March; including over 15,000 prepared meals that have been delivered directly to low-income households.
