Decorate Glasgow Park!

New Castle County Volunteer Services

Glasgow Park needs your help! With the holidays fast approaching, Glasgow Park needs to be decorated. We are looking for volunteers (no more than 5 per shift) to help with this task.

This is an outside opportunity and social distancing will be practiced. Volunteers will be required to wear face masks.

A screening check and temperature check will be performed prior to volunteering. Hand sanitizer will be available.

Here are some examples of tasks volunteers will be assisting with:

- Testing sorting and unrolling lights

- Transporting lights from storage to work area

- Climbing ladders and/or using bamboo poles to install lights on trees and shrubs at Rockwood Park

- Hanging wreaths garland and swags (making swags)

- Installing icicle lights

- Installing spotlights

- Delivering and plugging in extension cords to all lit trees

- All things decorating

- Decorating the outside of the house and barn with swag and decorations

The following shifts are available, from now until December 4 (except Thanksgiving week):
Thursday to Friday, weather permitting. Stay the whole day or choose from one of the shifts below:
- 9:30am to 12:30pm or
- 12:30 to 4pm

December 7 to December 11:
Monday to Friday, weather permitting. Stay the whole day or choose from one of the shifts below:
- 9:30am to 12:30pm or
- 12:30 to 4pm

Requirements:

Minimum age 18+.

Lifting objects, climbing ladders and bending may be required. Able to stand for long periods at a time in potentially chilly conditions.

Dress for the weather! We recommend dressing in layers, hat, gloves, winter coat, warm footwear.
