Fox Chase has opened a special waiting area for those who escort patients to the hospital.
Volunteers attend to the area by greeting escorts, recording their contact information and tracking who enters and leaves the area.
The volunteer desk is surrounded by plexiglass and all chairs are placed further than the required 6 feet from the desk. Volunteers are provided masks and eye protection.
There are five shifts per day 6-8 am, 8-10 am, 10-1 pm, 1-3 pm and 3-6 pm Monday through Friday.

The mission of the volunteer department is two-fold. Fox Chase Cancer Center offers opportunities for community members and survivors to make a difference in their world; and the volunteers support our colleagues in the mission of reducing the burden of cancer for our patients.
Volunteers can expect meaningful assignments either in the hospital or helping the researchers.
