  • Lap blankets provide comfort and warmth to our Sanctuary Hospice patients at the end of their life’s journey while providing a keepsake for their families to remember them by. Knit, crotchet or sew while visiting with hospice patients to provide them with socialization and companionship...receiving the "purls" of wisdom from them as they share their stories-What better JOY than to see them receive your comfort gift in person.

You can also create items at your own convenience(remote and virtually) and donate them to Sanctuary Hospice for our staff and patient care volunteers to deliver.

Contact Laura Brindza to see how you can contribute your creative talents Laurabrindza@sanctuaryhospiceOH.com or 216.520.4080. Volunteers required to complete application, background check, TB & Drug test & hospice training FREE of charge if visiting directly with patients.

About Sanctuary Hospice

5000 Rockside Road, Suite 100, Independence, OH 44131, US

Mission Statement

Patients and Families Come First The mission of Sanctuary Hospice is to understand and help guide our patients’ quest for a rewarding quality of life in their final days and to help their circle of family and friends support them in life and grieve for them in death. Sanctuary pledges to provide expert hospice care for the comfort and dignity of the terminally ill by addressing their individual physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Sanctuary Hospice serves as a resource to the community for end-of-life care and related issues and seeks to provide care for all appropriate patients and families who need hospice services regardless of ability to pay.

Hospice Volunteers come from all walks of life, yet they all share a common desire-to enrich their own lives and the lives of others by giving generously of their time, energy and talents. Volunteers are an integral part of our hospice team. Once trained they may work in several areas: Administrative, Direct Patient Care Visitation for companionship and support, Bereavement support, Pet therapy, Music Therapy and many other Special Alternative Complementary services.
