Bring Holiday Cheer to Sanctuary Hospice patients near you! Holiday Cheer is in the air, I know you'll find it especially fulfilling to share your quality time & your caring heart with a hospice patient!
With the social isolation of COVID these past years, many patients are yearning for a friendly visitor. We are collecting Mother's Day & Father's Day cards & Valentine & Easter decorations for our patients that staff and volunteers will deliver; in addition to, collecting videos of musical holiday performances to share for the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend to Honor our Veterans we have cared for & lost.
Join us and we'll spread this good cheer together OR donate items to brighten their day. (If you chose to deliver items yourself or decorate their rooms, FULL Volunteer Onboarding, Training & Screening will be required)
Volunteers are crucial to the Sanctuary Hospice experience and are a vital part of our team of caregivers. Patients and Families Come First The mission of Sanctuary Hospice is to understand and help guide our patients’ quest for a rewarding quality of life in their final days and to help their circle of family and friends support them in life and grieve for them in death. Sanctuary pledges to provide expert hospice care for the comfort and dignity of the terminally ill by addressing their individual physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Sanctuary Hospice serves as a resource to the community for end-of-life care and related issues and seeks to provide care for all appropriate patients and families who need hospice services regardless of ability to pay.
Description
Hospice Volunteers come from all walks of life, yet they all share a common desire-to enrich their own lives and the lives of others by giving generously of their time, energy and talents. Volunteers are an integral part of our hospice team. Once trained they may work in several areas: Administrative, Direct Patient Care Visitation for companionship and support, Bereavement support, Pet therapy, Music Therapy and many other Special Alternative Complementary services.
