Mission Statement
CodeMakersUSA's mission is to adddress disparity in science and technology education among low-resource schools in developing countries. STEAM learning and thinking drives economies and job creation. We want to narrow the gap in STEAM education, providing organizations with resources they can use to inspire and skill students to improve their understanding of science and technology and help their students become creators of knowledge.
Description
CodeMakers USA supports the work of a science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) education non-profit organization in South Africa, CodeMakers. They work with students and teachers in low-resource schools teaching computer programing/coding using Scratch, producing video interviews of young professional South Africans in science and tech careers to help students expand their ideas of career possibilities, and distribute off-line education resources such as Khan Academy and sciene podcasts to schools and students. There are many e-volunteering opportunities, please contact us for more info.
