Tax season, still? YEP! And it is going to continue until the updated deadline of May 17th!
There is still time to volunteer and help people needing assistance filing their taxes.
Note: From April 16th through May 17th, VITA volunteers will work remotely and from our Escondido headquarters only.
In 2020, VITA volunteers filed 1,824 tax returns for people needing assistance, providing $2,824,802 of returns that supported many families in our community.
We need volunteers to be Greeters, Tax Preparers, Quality Reviewers, and Translators. You do NOT have to be an experienced tax preparer or a mathematician because this volunteer opportunity starts with online IRS training and testing, an Interfaith orientation, and a lot of support from Interfaith staff and lead VITA team members.
This is a call to action for volunteers of all seasons -- people available during weekdays, weekends, mornings, midday, evenings, any adult who has the heart to help. And, it's a great opportunity for college students studying from home who are looking to develop new skills and experience. It can also be a remote volunteer experience!
It's been a tough year for all of us as we faced and continue to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic. Our VITA team will have the opportunity to work in an office that adheres to the CDC precautions and social distancing protocols, or you can work remotely from home.
We are looking for people who are reliable and motivated to help others. Is that you?
