The holiday season is rapidly approaching and we are looking for volunteers to help support our mission! Through the sales of our handmade products, we create jobs, for women in recovery, who are transitioning back into the workforce.
We are looking for volunteers to help us build boxes and/or package our coffee mugs and get them out the door, just in time for the holidays! As you can imagine, gift giving season is our busiest time of year and we couldn't make it happen without a little help from our friends.
This is an ideal opportunity for a community group, school group or just a group of friends who want to come together and make an impact in the South Florida area. Assembly lines, timed races and all around fun antics are encouraged! We have opportunities for you at our office, or remotely. Let us share with you how a few hours of your time can further our goal of providing employment for local women.
Let us know that you are interested by responding to this post! Alternatively, you may complete the following form by selecting the volunteer option: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdGZr5_2WLAkWpHB8pxCujXPXfYgfdxrhn0P4D8XlTqz7voXA/viewform
PLEASE NOTE: Face coverings required, Santa hats and ugly Christmas sweaters optional!
We adhere to the CDC guidelines and ask that all volunteers wear face coverings during their time at the office. We also practice social distancing standards and do our best to keep everyone 6 ft apart.
About SECOND CHANCE INITIATIVE INC
7400 N. Federal Highway, Suite 8A, BOCA RATON, FL 33487, US
Our mission is to create jobs for women in recovery that help them flourish.
Every single one of us has needed a second chance. No matter who we are, no matter what our story, we’ve needed to start over at some point.
Our team members struggle to find traditional employment because of their past. This leads to a clear problem: we have people hungry to turn their lives around, but no opportunity to become financially independent. As we all know, without a path to self-sufficiency, there cannot be lasting change.
That's where Second Chance Initiative comes in. Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit aims to be the launching pad where people can begin working towards a brighter future, thus breaking the cycle of shame and hopelessness that perpetuates relapse and recidivism.
A key component of breaking this cycle is changing the conversation. We do not see our team members as powerless victims. We see them as empowered survivors who have already taken the hardest step: they’ve decided they want something different for their future and are working to make that happen. We know that they do not want handouts. They want the chance to stand on their own two feet. We exist simply to give them a hand-up.
Here’s what we believe: ~ Your past does not define your future
~ There is no shame in starting over
~ Seeking a second chance is a sign of strength and people who do so deserve to be celebrated
So, here’s to every time any of us have been brave enough to start over, and here’s to creating opportunities for others to do.
