Marketing Volunteer Job Description

The Empowerment Factory (TEF) is seeking a marketing intern or volunteer that will be responsible for assisting the organization in the development and implementation of its marketing, business development,
and public relations initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to develop, maintain and expand
marketing methodologies while working for a RI Based 501c3 nonprofit organization. Interns/volunteers will work closely with the Executive Director. We are asking for a minimum of 4 hours per week and are flexible on what days and times.

Responsibilities:
● Create comprehensive database of targeted businesses and community organizations.
● Work on digital, promotional, and event media.
● Develop local communication initiatives, website and social media content, and assist in the creation of marketing materials.

Qualifications:
● Marketing/Communications, Advertising or Public Administration.
● Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.
● Ability to communicate in a professional manner with the community contacts.

Terms: Summer, Fall, Winter Session, and Spring

About Us:

The Empowerment Factory (TEF) is dedicated to giving children the skills they need to lead happier, healthier lives. We focus on three areas of development: creativity, self-esteem, and civic pride. The Creative Squad programs blend hands-on activities with social emotional learning (SEL) and environmental education. Our vision is for every child to develop the confidence and ability to express themselves, while becoming actively engaged in their communities. Every child should feel that they matter and can make a difference in the world around them.

The Empowerment Factory offers programs and special events for schools, after school, organizations, libraries and youth groups that help children develop the skills they need to succeed.

It was founded by Gail Ahlers, as a nonprofit organization in April of 2014 and became a federally recognized 501(c)3 as of August 2016. Our blended learning model has positively impacted over 3700 urban youth with the creation of 34 after-school clubs and 13 summer programs, 90 percent of whom live in under-served communities.
