Web Designer Intern/Volunteer Description
The Empowerment Factory (TEF) is a local non-profit looking for a passionate, creative, and innovative intern or volunteer to assist in web development/design. This internship/volunteer work is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a team that is making a positive impact in our community while expanding your knowledge and gaining valuable experience. Interns/volunteers will work closely with the Executive Director and Office Manager. We are asking for a minimum of 4 hours per week and are flexible on what days and times.
Our location in easily accessible by public transportation (directly on bus route) and wheel chair accessible.
Remote work available.

Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain a user-friendly web application
- Write functional requirement documents and guides
- Implementation of security and data protection
Qualifications
- Experience with word press as a programming platform
- Familiarity with web application testing and debugging
- Understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)
- Must be self-motivated, have good organizational skills, be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize.
Terms: Summer, Fall, Winter Session, Spring
Hours: Flexible and Negotiable

Our vision is for every child to develop the confidence and ability to express themselves, while becoming actively engaged in their communities. Every child should feel that they matter and can make a difference in the world around them.
The Empowerment Factory offers programs and special events for schools, after school, organizations, libraries and youth groups that help children develop the skills they need to succeed.
It was founded by Gail Ahlers, as a nonprofit organization in April of 2014 and became a federally recognized 501(c)3 as of August 2016. Our blended learning model has positively impacted over 3700 urban youth with the creation of 34 after-school clubs and 13 summer programs, 90 percent of whom live in under-served communities.
