We are searching for someone to fill a vacant seat on our board of directors. Members of the board all have or have had professional careers, and an applicant is asked to have experience in decision-making with complex information, executive or management assignments, real estate management or ownership, accounting or finance, law, environmental design or planning, public advocacy or public policy, non-profit management, or a demonstrated history of organizing and executing service deliveries for non-profit organizations, or other board experience. A short career is not disqualifying: education and practical experience will be seriously considered.
We have generated excess revenue and will be exploring ways to deploy this or our physical assets in different ways to expand our mission.

To provide affordable and/or subsidized housing for low income and disabled citizens.

Description

Begun in 1973 the first housing project is a 100 unit, 12-story building in San Diego,currently providing homes for approximately 140 people. It is a "Section 8" property,
It is professionally managed by an off-site company, but has four on-site personnel.
Our organization has been very successful, and completed a renovation of the building in 2018, which included complete re-plumbing, and entirely new HVAC units.

FIRST CONGREGATIONAL MEMORIAL TOWER HAS NO FORMAL AFFILIATION WITH ANY CHURCH OR ANY OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION.
